My husband and I knew we needed to make change in our life. We had both gained way too many pounds and were starting to feel the side effects and the stress of the added weight, our doctors were wanting to add medications.  That was a road we weren’t willing to go down.  We knew we needed to eat well, we just chose under the stress of life to eat convenient foods and quick energy junk.  Enter Brandie, one of my favorite OT students from years ago, back into my life from a Facebook group offering to be our health coach and try Whole30. We jumped in, fully committed in September of 2017 and actually turned it into a Whole60 and felt great.  We were truly shocked by the results.  We learned what are triggers were, what made us feel good, and what made us feel bad.  We learned how to eat better food choices and use foods in a different ways, to not have the same thing over and over again.

I made home made mayonnaise and ranch dressing from scratch and decided we would never purchase commercial foods again! We meal prepped and made those crazy weeknights easier. We were able to tailor all of the foods for our child with special needs who is dairy free, egg free, and gluten free. So all in all it was a great change for us! We both lost weight and we felt better than we had in years.  We had more energy. Our skin was healthier. Our guts were regular. Our allergies were not as bad. The doctors were surprised. So much so that we did it again in January of 2018 and did it for 45 days.  It’s easy to fall off the wagon and sneak some of those poor food choices back into your diet, but through the whole process, Brandie was available and checked in frequently to see how things were doing, to find out if their were things she could do better as a coach, to poll us if there were things we needed that she had not provided, and just to encourage and challenge us. It was great being a part of the Facebook group and to see how everyone encouraged each other and shared ideas from different parts of the country. We continue to eat clean and strive to live a healthier, happier, more successful life and giving God the glory for all of it. We were challenged to look deep and find meaning in our daily trials and tasks, and to be joyful in all things.  We would recommend her as a Health Coach!!
